ABOUT PERTH OFFICE

South32’s corporate office is based in the heart of Perth’s CBD. The corporate office houses key functions including HR, Finance, Corporate Development, Investor Relations, Group Risk and Technical. Our office is conveniently located a 5-minute walk from the Perth Underground Train Station.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

This is a twelve-month fixed-term position, Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate must be based at our head office in Perth.

The Analyst Finance Business Partnership will support operations through a customer-focused approach, providing analysis, explanation, and advice on business options to deliver the highest-value outcomes.

Reporting to Finance Lead other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• An overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
• Manage and support larger functions' portfolios with the annual budget and monthly forecasting processes, including management approvals, and influenced their plans where required.

• Understand and communicate cost drivers and their impact on business outcomes.
• Perform month-end tasks to assist cost accounting for the Global Functions such as posting accruals and reallocation journals, analysing Global Functional cost, community reporting, governing and preparing master data change requests etc.
• Establish and maintain effective business partnerships with the Global functions by acting as the single point contact.

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to drive compliance with accounting standards and Group Performance Standards
• Ability to drive cost efficiencies in the Global Functions and ensure standard and automated transaction processing to help drive performance excellence across the Functions.
• Analytical with an inquisitive mindset to critically evaluate information and numbers are key
• Exceptional attention to detail and interpersonal skills
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment
• Proficiency in the use of SAP and Power BI would be highly advantageous

Qualifications for this position are: 

• Tertiary level qualification in Commerce, Finance or a relevant field is favorable.
• CA/CPA
