ABOUT PERTH OFFICE

South32’s corporate office is based in the heart of Perth’s CBD. The corporate office houses key functions including HR, Finance, Corporate Development, Supply, Investor Relations, Group Risk, Technical, Legal, CoSec and External Affairs. Our office is conveniently located a 5-minute walk from the Perth Underground Train Station.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a permanent full-time position, based at our head office in Perth.

The Executive Assistant enables the Chief HR & Commercial Officer to be inclusive and high performing.  They are a key member of the global HR and Commercial team and the South32 Executive Assistant network.

Reporting to the Chief HR & Commercial Officer, key role accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Member of the global HR Leadership Team accountable for fostering a globally diverse team with an inclusive culture and delivering on our HR and Commercial Function mandate.
  • Enabling the Chief to be a high-performing leader through excellence in prioritisation, time management, engagement, and general support.
  • Developing and issuing Chief communications and supporting the HR and Commercial Lead Team with the preparation of significant internal documents, such as board papers, and maintaining our digital communication channels.
  • Representing the Chief to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinating internal and external engagements on behalf of the Chief.
  • Assisting the HR and Commercial Lead Team with purchasing, expense management, budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • General administrative support for the broader HR and Commercial Teams, including travel arrangements and onboarding of new team members.

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

  • Strong communication skills and an ability to quickly gain trust and build relationships.
  • A desire to be part of an inclusive and high performing team.
  • Understanding of budgeting/forecasting processes.
  • Comfort with complexity and collaboration within and across teams.
  • A bias towards being structured and forward planning.
  • An appetite for work flexibility to enable sustainable performance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Experience with SAP and supporting a C-suite executive in a global, listed company is desirable.
