ABOUT CANNINGTON 

Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead.  Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville. Cannington mine provides on-site accommodation including meal services, as well as sporting and gym facilities.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

This is a permanent position on a 4:3 roster (50% working from home), FIFO from Townsville/Brisbane or DIDO from Mount Isa to Cannington.

As the HR Business Partner, you will support the HR Manager and partner with Line Managers on setting priorities, driving values, and delivering business results through the implementation of key people systems, and responding to key people challenges.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

  • Coach leaders to manage and take full accountability for people decisions effectively and consistently.
  • Provide guidance and advise on all aspects of human resources, including conducting investigations, managing performance management, and supporting development.
  • Facilitate effective workforce planning to identify the capacity and capability of the operation to deliver its objectives.
  • Provide high quality industrial and employee relations advice and services, managing and resolving issues as they arise.

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

  • Experience in industrial/employee relations matters ideally within Mining or Heavy industry.
  • Experience working in a similar role within an operational environment.
  • Strong communication and risk management skills to inform key decisions for the business.
  • Ability to effectively challenge people, situations and perspectives.
  • Able to provide strategic people advice, develop options, analyse risks, make good judgements, and solve problems.

Qualifications for this position are: 

  • Relevant degree or appropriate experience (preferably HR/IR, Organisational Behaviour, Change Management)
