We are seeking a Risk Advisor to work in the Brisbane Procurement hub as part of the global Strategy Risk & Governance team. In these recently created roles, you will help increase risk maturity across the Procurement function for this region. In addition, these roles will help identify, assess, and prioritise risks that could impact our objectives, including compliance with our procurement and regulatory requirements. 

Reporting to the Manager - Risk and Assurance, the remit of this role includes but is not limited to:

  • Providing risk management support and insights to the Category teams, including conducting risk assessments and facilitating risk workshops to ensure compliance with procurement processes, regulations, and laws specific to each category.
  • Supporting the Risk and Assurance Manager in establishing and performing monitoring of critical controls.
  • Building risk capability within the Procurement team, including supporting the delivery of training when required.
  • Assisting with the preparation of key governance forums, primarily the Procurement Risk and Audit Committee (RAC).
  • Coordinating Procurement risk reporting, internally and externally.
  • Provide support for risk and audit related queries.

Desirable:

  • Experience in risk management, focusing on procurement, logistics and contract management.
  • An understanding of Rio Tinto Global Procurement practices.
