Advisor - Injury Management

Job Responsibilities

Join the Macmahon Underground team as an Injury Management Advisor based in our head office near Perth Airport. 

About the role

• Adhoc travel to sites may be required.
• Monday to Friday full time permanent role with possible weekend contact with injured personnel.
• Be the initial contact person for injured personnel coming from site to provide them support.
• Attend initial & ongoing medical appointments with injured personnel, with the view to returning them to work as soon as practicable.
• Ongoing liaison with healthcare providers to ensure an accurate understanding of the workers’ medical management plan and facilitate ‘return to work’ opportunities.
• Submit Workers Compensation and income protection claims to the insurer.
• Maintain the injury management database (Solv Injury) relevant to underground personnel.
• Provide guidance to HSEQT and projects regarding classification of injuries.
• Update senior managers on injury management cases.
• Facilitate fitness for work assessments and develop proposed Return to Work plans.
• Ensure Workers Compensation and Income Protection payments are processed in line with insurer guidance.
  
  
  

About you

• Minimum of Certificate IV in Personal Injury Management (or related).
• A health background (paramedic, nursing, ancillary health) highly desirable.
• Minimum two years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within a mine site environment.
• Must be familiar with W/Comp & Injury Management legislative requirements over multiple Australian jurisdictions.
• Working knowledge of injury management databases (Solv Injury) beneficial.
• High level interpersonal and communication skills.
• Current C Class drivers’ licence.
