About the Role
As a member of the cybersecurity operations team, the Cyber Operations Analyst will be primarily responsible for the delivery of security operations services across the organisation to enhance BHP’s cybersecurity capabilities and control environment. As part of day-to-day activities, the Cyber Operations Analyst will also be responsible for monitoring, detection, incident management, and supporting the uplift of tools and capabilities across cybersecurity. This role can be based in any of our Australian offices to include Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide!
Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage cybersecurity incidents, including triage, determining work streams, leading management, and technical bridges, communicating to stakeholders, maintaining detailed records
- Conduct Post Incident Reviews for major incidents / root cause analysis
- Manage escalated cybersecurity incidents, liaising with stakeholders, maintaining detailed records through to closure
- Assist with the design, development, implementation, and execution of BHP’s information security platforms
- Monitor cybersecurity systems, perform deep technical analysis on alerts, logs and other indicators, raising incidents as appropriate
- Perform research, development, and provide recommendations on technical security practices for current and future cybersecurity initiatives
- Support cybersecurity leadership in the management and delivery of security assessments to determine risk and communicate discoveries with relevant parties
- Review and propose enhancements to SOC detection tools and intelligence to improve detection and investigation capabilities
- Investigate, assess, and support the process for acquiring new technologies for present and future applications
- Implement and operate security technologies to identify, address, resolve, and provide recommendations around security threats, vulnerabilities, incidents, and events
- Support the review, development, and enhancement of security programs for effectiveness and develop improvements as required
- Collaborate with internal and external parties to provide services or information security advice
- Implement and manage changes to procedures and systems to enhance BHP’s overall security
About You
- Minimum 1 years of cybersecurity experience
- Experience in cybersecurity incident management and operation of cybersecurity operations
- A strong understanding of cybersecurity threats, incident response, and risk management processes
- Experience detecting, assessing, investigating, remediating, and recovering from security incidents or events
- Experience in a SOC team / collaborating with other IT and business teams during security incidents
- Solid experience with security tools and platforms including SIEM, IPS/IDS, EDR, SecOps, etc.
- Experience with monitoring both IT and OT systems
- Working knowledge of IT processes including incident, problem, and change management
- Experience communicating with management, and senior stakeholders
- Extensive in security operations services with demonstrated skills in relevant cybersecurity technologies
