Our Operations

One of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. The local township of Roxby Downs is an active and progressive community offering a variety of modern, well equipped housing, educational, health, sporting, leisure, shopping and cultural facilities. 

Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 7/7 Day/Night rotating roster, with residential, FIFO (from Adelaide) or DIDO options available. 

Job Description

Reporting to the Supervisor of the Fixed Plant team, you will work closely with surface and underground mine personnel. You will be involved in executing planned and unplanned maintenance tasks, as well as helping to ensure any plant downtime issues are escalated and actioned effectively.

In this role you will:

  • Promote and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day
  • Provide Boilermaking trade skills to perform unplanned and/or breakdown maintenance
  • Assist with planned maintenance work where applicable
  • Provide feedback to the maintenance supervisor on job/task progress
  • Develop a close working relationship with relevant personnel to ensure that all plant downtime issues are escalated correctly and rectified immediately

About you

  • Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm's way
  • Australian recognised Metal Fabrication/Boilermaker trade qualifications
  • Previous experience with a range of fixed plant and/or mobile mining plant and equipment (preferred)
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously when required
  • A team player with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels
