Our Opportunity

 

Fortescue is seeking experienced Contracts and Procurement professionals to join our team supporting a diverse portfolio of projects including new mine developments, sustaining capital, renewable energy assets, and project studies.

 

With opportunities at Specialist and Senior Specialist levels, you will work with project teams and stakeholders to develop contracting strategies, manage tendering processes, negotiate contracts and administer contracts during execution to support strong project outcomes.

 

Opportunities may be available across permanent and contract arrangements.

About The Roles

 

The team provides end to end contracts and procurement expertise across the project lifecycle, from early project studies, through project delivery until completion of commissioning.    

 

Depending on the role and stage of specific project, you may:

 

  • Develop procurement and contracting strategies aligned with project objectives, schedules and commercial outcomes
  • Advise on contract models, packaging strategies, market engagement and supplier selection
  • Prepare tender documents and commercially robust contracts
  • Coordinate tender processes from market engagement through evaluation, negotiation and award
  • Negotiate commercial terms, pricing and the allocation of risk
  • Administer contracts and manage correspondence, payments, variations, delay and other claims and compliance requirements
  • Identify commercial and schedule risks and mitigation opportunities to improve project outcomes
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and contractors
  • Maintain contract records, reporting and governance
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across contracts and procurement activities

 

At Senior Specialist level, you will also provide commercial leadership across complex or high-value work, advise and influence senior stakeholders and support the development of colleagues.

About You

 

You are an experienced Contracts and Procurement professional who can work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and deliver outcomes in a changing project environment.

 

You will bring:

 

  • Experience in contracts and procurement roles delivering projects within mining, resources, construction, infrastructure or energy industries
  • A sound understanding of tendering, contract negotiation, post award contract administration and claims management and procurement governance
  • Strong commercial judgement, communication and negotiation skills
  • The ability to manage ambiguity, competing priorities and changing project requirements
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the confidence to build effective contractor relationships
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach to identifying and managing commercial risk
  • An interest in continuous improvement and delivering value
  • A commitment to Fortescue’s Values, safety, integrity and delivery

 

Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, law, engineering, quantity surveying, construction management or a related discipline will be well regarded. Relevant experience is important, with the level of experience required depending on the role.
