Our Opportunity
Work Location: Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.
Roster: 8D6R7N7R - FIFO ex Perth
The HV Electrician HME role reports directly to the Cable Management Supervisor where they will be required to manage the HV power supply to 9400E excavators and PV271E Pit Viper Drill Rigs for mining operations in conjunction with the mining operation cable handling team.
You will be responsible for conducting repairs and inspections on mining fleet with particular focus on compliance, safety, quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Willingness to learn new disciplines and skills to ensure the incoming green fleet transition has a maintenance team with never give up attitude and capability to grow with innovative technology.
- Report to HV Electrical Supervisor, is responsible for energizing/de-energizing HV power supply to 9400E Excavators and PV271E Pit Viper Drill Rigs. Ensuring all relevant statutory testing and inspections are carryout on all cabling for the Excavator.
- Diagnosing and fault finding in breakdown scenarios, optimising machine run time.
- Working alongside the mining operation cable handling team to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment operating in and around the HV power supply to the Excavator.
- Ensure safety controls are in place and working effectively, including 100% compliance to statutory inspection and testing intervals.
- Work in conjunction with all mobile maintenance and cable management teams to achieve 100% schedule compliance.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Grade Western Australian Electrical licence.
- HV Switching Ticket.
- Able to work in small teams with critical path work.
- High Voltage switching experience.
- Prior experience or exposure to Electric HME i.e Excavators, Drills or Face Shovels desirable.
