ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Permanent position on 4-day, 10-hour weekly or 9-day fortnight roster. Based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery, it’s a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (45 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities. 

As the Engineer Electrical you will be responsible for providing electrical and instrumentation expertise, supporting operations, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and legislation at Worsley Alumina.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Electrical engineering support, including the provision of relevant technical knowledge and input for the development of Capital and Maintenance projects and modifications.
• Maintaining the SKM PTW power system model and use the model to perform arc flash analysis and protection coordination studies.
• Ensuring compliance to relevant processes and standards, statutory legislation, Fatal Risk Controls, and Industry, Australian or Government Standards, including input into Site Engineering Standards
• Verifying engineering contractors’ adherence to work standards and understanding of the purpose and functionality of critical controls relevant to their work.
• Ensure any Engineering services provided to the operation meet relevant standards and are aligned to designed/agreed operating principles.

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• Proven expertise in electrical engineering with a focus on high voltage systems.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and proactive approach to continuous improvement.
• A genuine interest in and enjoyment of power system modelling (including load studies, protection grading and arc flash analysis).
• Ability to collaborate and build relationships across teams for successful outcomes.
• Excellent communication skills, with a focus on clear, supportive guidance and teamwork.
