For this entry-level position we are seeking graduates completing their degrees in first half of 2026, as well as those who have graduated within the past two years. Our two-year program is based in Peabody’s Brisbane Corporate Office, working with our Seaborne Sales and Marketing team to promote, transport, monetize and maximize returns for our mined products.
You will work in a fast-paced, high-stakes and exciting team environment alongside experienced sales, logistics and finance professionals that will offer formal mentorship.
Throughout the program, you’ll gain exposure to all facets of bulk commodities sales and trading, with training across the full vertical value chain from interactions with Peabody’s Australian & USA mines, to bulk commodity logistics, to international trade finance and eventually to directly servicing and developing our global customer base.

Role Location
- Fortitude Valley Corporate Office (QLD): centrally located corporate office within central Brisbane, offering modern facilities and convenient public transport options.
- Off-site Opportunities: During the program, Graduates will have the opportunity to travel to mines and other locations for customer meetings. A short-term mine-based rotation will also be considered.

About the Role
As a Sales & Marketing Graduate in our two-year development program you will step into a permanent role designed to build your technical capability, professional confidence, commercial negotiation skills and market knowledge. You will gain immediate hands-on experience operating our sales and trading operations system while learning to align the upstream aspects of mine production and product development with downstream aspects of customer delivery. Throughout the program you will rotate across different commodity trading functions, including sales contracting, trade finance and invoicing, bulk transportation (landborne and seaborne), market analytics, technical product marketing, pricing excellence and customer account management (for both thermal and metallurgical buyers).
To qualify for the Peabody Energy Graduate Program, you must:
- Have completed (or will complete by June 2026) a business, international business, economics, finance or other similar degree or postgraduate degree
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail, thrive in a fast paced environment and be adaptable to conducting business in a wide variety of cultural settings
- Enjoy collaborating with others and contributing to shared goals
- Communicate clearly and confidently, with a willingness to grow and take on feedback
- Bring curiosity, initiative, and a genuine enthusiasm to learn on‑site in one of Australia’s most essential industries
