HST Systems Analyst

Reporting to the HST Superintendent, you will be part of a dynamic team.

The successful candidate will work within the HST team providing technical and systems support to the HST Superintendent and wider team.

About the Business

Yarrabee Coal Company is a wholly owned subsidery of Yancoal Australia, based in Blackwater Queensland, which is a couple hours west of the Capricorn Coast. With an international sales portfolio, Yarrabee is a proud producer of high quality PCI coal. Yarrabee also manages the Boonal Joint Venture Coal Stockpile and Train Loadout Facility, for both Yarrabee and Jellinbah Mine's Coal. Operating continuously since 1982 Yarrabee has a strong long term future outlook for ongoing coal production. The site employs a workforce of approximately 400 people, which proudly boasts it's integrated close knit culture of people who collectively pull together as a team. Yarrabee Mine's long history and strong future creates an exciting challenge for developing and navigating the requirements of the future. It boasts three tier one thermal coal mines in New South Wales together with interests in three other metallurgical and thermal coal mines located in New South Wales and Queensland. Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Compilation, interpretation, analysis and presentation of safety and health data and statistics
  • Carry out internal and external monthly and quarterly reporting for the HST team
  • Assist in the development of policies, procedures and standards
  • Maintain the Intelex system
  • Provide support to the Training Advisor including the use of Pegasus
  • Raise purchase orders, process invoices and calculate monthly accruals
  • Provide administration support to the HST Manager and Superintendent as required
  • Maintain records, reports and documents required to meet corporate and regulatory requirements
  • Arrange, and when required provide HST training to staff
  • Provide support to Operational teams during HST audits and projects

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated advanced computer literacy
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven understanding of the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act
  • Strong understanding of Training Needs Analysis
  • Proficiency in developing processes, procedures, and system instructions/user guides
  • Strong documentation abilities to explain complex technical information effectively
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on customer service
  • Make decisions within well defined parameters
  • Identify problems and develop potential solutions
