About the role

We are looking for Fixed Plant Inspectors to provide technical assistance, support, and expert advice on plant condition while driving continuous improvement practices within the Fixed Plant Maintenance team.

This role is critical in ensuring high-quality asset inspections, work management discipline, and reliability improvement, working within the Rio Tinto maintenance management framework and utilising RTBS to drive safe and effective maintenance outcomes.

This is a residential role based in Dampier. Reporting to the Supervisor Asset Health, working in a collaborative team within fixed plant maintenance, you will;

  • Adhere to all Rio Tinto standards, policies and procedures, fostering a positive safety culture and prioritise safety in all activities

  • Promote accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement

  • Perform comprehensive inspections of fixed plant assets, raising high quality SAP notifications for repair actions based on condition and risk

  • Execute inspection-driven maintenance aligned to work management processes

  • Complete post-maintenance commissioning and quality assurance checks

  • Support BOM accuracy and maintenance tactics improvements, ensuring tactics align to plant condition

  • Act as conduit between planning, Condition Monitoring and maintenance teams, communicating asset condition and priorities, providing advice on life extension or replacement decisions

  • Provide coaching and technical support, collaborating across teams to optimise outcomes

About you

  • A strong commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.

  • Extensive experience in fixed plant equipment, including car dumpers, balanced machines, conveyors and screens.

  • Strong SAP or maintenance system experience

  • Strong diagnostic capability

  • Mechanical trade qualification

  • WA C Class Driver’s Licence

Where you’ll be working

Our integrated operations, which include port facilities, ensure we can supply the right quality product to our customers when they need it. We blend our products at our own ports, which allows us to produce a reliable and consistent product. And because we have dedicated shipping operations, we are able to better control the delivery of product to our customers.

We operate 4 independent shipping terminals at 2 locations, Cape Lambert and Dampier, managed as a single port system.

Dampier has terminals at Parker Point and East Intercourse Island.#gts
