Reporting to the Functional Manager – People Platforms, you will:

  • Develop and document solution options for business review and approval.

  • Prototype system changes, including test script creation, execution, and analysis.

  • Evaluate and recommend alternative design options, considering trade-offs and business impact.

  • Identify and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within HCM solutions.

  • Model, simulate, or prototype platform behaviour to validate solutions.

  • Configure, build, and test system changes while managing impact assessments and regression testing for vendor releases.

  • Ensure adherence to change and release processes for smooth deployment.

  • Monitor system health, performance, and issue resolution to maximize platform availability.

  • Maintain data security and controls, ensuring compliance with Rio Tinto’s risk framework.

  • Identify and mitigate platform risks, while optimizing system performance and efficiency.

 What you will bring

  • Safety First - you’re committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for yourself and your team.

  • Experience in IT operations, software development, or DevOps and you're comfortable navigating technical challenges.

  • Workday Expertise - you have deep configuration skills in Workday Core HR and at least two additional modules (e.g., Talent, Compensation, Learning), and you enjoy optimising systems to meet business needs.

  • Technology Product Mindset - you understand SaaS models and know how to work effectively within SaaS support structures.

  • Collaborative Approach - you’ve worked in outsourced or multi-stakeholder environments and know how to build strong relationships across teams.

  • Stakeholder Engagement - Ability to translate technical concepts into business value and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

  • Business Insight - you have a broad understanding of business processes and can anticipate the ripple effects of decisions and changes.

What we offer

  • Be recognised for your contribution, your thinking and your hard work, and go home knowing you have helped the world progress.

  • An excellent base salary reflective of your skills and experience with annual incentive program.

  • Comprehensive medical benefits including subsidised private health insurance for employees and immediate family.

  • Attractive share ownership plan.

  • Extensive salary sacrifice & salary packaging options.

  • Career development & education assistance to further your technical or leadership ambitions.
