Rolleston Open Cut
Monday to Friday Roster 

Rolleston Open Cut is a 16Mtpa thermal coal mine located in the southern Bowen Basin in Central Queensland.  With a long life of mine and low operating costs, the mine has a bright outlook.  Since 2005, we have grown to become one of the largest surface mines in Australia, whilst continuing to foster a culture underpinned by safety, achievement, flexibility and teamwork to improve the skills of each and every person on the mine site every day.  We are a hands-on team who all work together to meet our objectives.  No job or day is the same with us, and we never miss an opportunity to share, learn and improve. 

Reporting to the Engineering Superintendent, you will provide leadership support for the maintenance team while delivering the service, expertise and coaching required to sustain high levels of plant and equipment safety, reliability, and operational performance during day to day activities.  Your focus will always be ensuring the health and safety of our people while meeting organizational goals and statutory compliance.

About you:

• A qualification in mechanical engineering and previous experience in a site-based mining operation;
• Both well-developed technical skills and personal attributes
• Be proficient in managing priorities, resources and forward thinking
• Proven problem-solving skills and a drive for continuous improvement
• Have skills in computerized maintenance management systems, such as SAP;
• Excellent safety mindset with the ability to positively influence the culture at Rolleston;
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects work and forecast future budget requirements to meet fiscal responsibility’s
• Ability to work within a dynamic team & in cooperation with other departments to support the business objectives
