Mine Services Coordinator – Roads and Services
Work Location: Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people
Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth
Reporting to the Mine Services Superintendent, this position is a key leadership responsible for coordinating the maintenance and improvement plans for all internal and external roads, management of mobile cranes, scaffolding, and industrial cleaning services throughout FMG’s Eliwana Mine Site. This role will see you interact with key internal customers such as Mining Operations and Ore Processing Facility (OPF) teams and will also require a close interface with external stakeholders from FMG’s Solomon Mining Operations for the care and maintenance of the main access road from Solomon to Eliwana.
Key responsibilities include:
- Build and maintain a high-performance team that is engaged and support the Fortescue values
- Identify and prioritise critical defects within the road networks
- Ensure road maintenance meets regulatory and compliance requirements
- Ensure all defects on road networks are identified and incorporated within the weekly/monthly plans
- Prepare and execute annual re-sheeting and improvement plans for internal/external roads
- Manage the program and road closure management of repairs during wet weather
- Provide information regarding road closures to the Mine Management and Main Roads WA (if required)
- Plan and manage project works, scope and coordinate variation works
- Review monthly claims, and assist with budgets and invoicing
Qualifications and Experience:
- Civil engineering-associated qualifications (Roads)
- Strong earthworks, civil and structures construction experience in a leadership position
- Maintenance planning experience
- Excellent contractor and people management skills
- Ability to deliver pre-starts and chair meetings with work crews and management
- Strong HSE leadership and knowledge of procedures and relevant legislation
- Ability to work in remote locations and extreme environmental conditions
