We are looking for Mobile Equipment Maintenance Inspector to provide technical assistance, support, and expert advice on continuous improvement practices on a day-to-day basis to Mobile Equipment Maintenance primarily focused on Le Tourneau and WA900 Loaders.This is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced HD Fitter who is ready to take the next step into an inspector role.In addition to paying competitively and providing great benefits packages, we want you to live the lifestyle that is right for you and your family. We do the work only if it is safe, and we invest to make sure every member of the team has the quality tools they need to do their job.Reporting to Supervisor Asset Health, and working in a collaborative community within Mobile Maintenance on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, you will:

  • Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating and implementing improvement opportunities utilising a range of Rio Tinto best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with other functions and stakeholders in the performance of duties
  • Provide appropriate coaching, mentoring and technical support to Mobile Equipment Maintenance
  • Perform comprehensive and holistic routine inspections of heavy mobile equipment to correctly scope and prioritise jobs, determining repair action when required
  • Conduct ad hoc equipment inspections where required and carry out smaller opportune repairs (high risk and/or quick fix tasks) within allocated inspection duration. Follow breakdown escalation process if unable to repair on spot
  • Actively work towards increasing equipment reliability as well as availability
  • Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations.

What You’ll Bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Currently working in a heavy mobile mining equipment role
  • Computer skills and previous experience with SAP or similar
  • Sound knowledge of legislation and proactive maintenance principles
  • Experience maintaining HME equipment – Le Tourneau and WA900 Loaders.
  • Excellent diagnostic fault-finding abilities
  • Good understanding of SAP maintenance systems or similar
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a small team, demonstrating flexibility to business requirements
  • A Current Australian ‘C’ Class Driver's Licence (Manual) or higher
  • HD Fitter/ HV Electrician, Experienced with L2350's.
  • Full Australian working rights, without requiring visa sponsorship.
