We are looking for a Network Engineer (LTE) who will be responsible for technical assurance over solution design, implementation, and support documentation of LTE networks across Rio Tinto to deliver technical solutions that align to standards, business and operational requirements. You will work closely with project stakeholders, project and operational teams, governance bodies and delivery vendors.

You will be the Subject Matter Expert in LTE communications technologies, focusing on either Core, Backhaul, Access or Infrastructure.

Reporting to the Superintendent D&E – Major Projects and working in a collaborative and exciting environment within our IS&T project delivery team, you will:

  • Through analysis and knowledge of technical communications solutions, ensure the right technical solution is delivered to meet the business requirements
  • Provide technical review, assurance and approval of vendor submitted documentation, including designs and bill of materials across the Rio Tinto LTE environment
  • Witness and approve equipment factory acceptance testing, and configuration in line with Rio Tinto standards and guidelines
  • Develop, document, represent and assure technical change management and testing executed by vendors to ensure successful solution delivery.
  • Work closely with Rio Tinto approved vendors to ensure vendor solutions are delivered to the business in line with Project schedule during approved change windows, to meet business requirements.

What you’ll bring

  • Commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering large scale LTE network solutions.
  • Strong understanding of the change management process with the ability to champion technical changes to a non-technical audience
  • Strong knowledge of Nokia suite of products, specifically SAR-8, Air Scale, Flexi-eNodes and MPT and UBT microwave, and Cambium PTMP.
  • Heavy exposure to large scale production critical LTE networks
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills including the ability to effectively work with multiple stakeholders and external vendors
  • Proven experience of HTZ planning tool
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills

It will also be beneficial if you have:

  • Tertiary education in Telecommunications Engineering, or relevant industry experience
  • Experience in reviewing and preparing documentation suitable for transitioning project deliverables to operational support.
