Plumber – Green Energy Hub

Work Location: Christmas Creek - Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.

Roster: 8D6R FIFO ex Perth or Busselton

This position is responsible to deliver safe, high-quality, and compliant repair work, maintenance and inspections on plumbing, gas systems and reverse osmosis systems within the hydrogen gas plant, hydrogen liquid plant, Heavy Equipment battery charger and surrounding Infrastructure at the Christmas Creek Green Energy Hub.

Due to the scale of our infrastructure operations, there will be potential opportunity to work across multiple Fortescue sites, including Christmas Creek, Cloudbreak, Solomon, Eliwana, Nyidinghu, Iron Bridge and Port Hedland.

Key Accountabilities:

  • High safety focus and risk perception at all times
  • Carry out planned maintenance, statutory inspections and breakdown repairs on the hydrogen gas plant, hydrogen liquid plant, Heavy Equipment battery charger and surrounding Infrastructure.
  • Use of SAP to create notifications, close out work orders and time confirmations
  • Actively participate in daily, toolbox and safety meetings
  • Comply with company procedures, policies and lifesaving choices at all times
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments prior to undertaking tasks
  • Report all hazards and incidents within the workplace
  • Coach, mentor and develop apprentices to become high quality tradespeople

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current West Australian Plumbing Trade Certification
  • Minimum G class gas fitting license (class P and I gas fitting license highly desirable)
  • Senior first aid / CPR
  • WA Class C Driver’s Licence
  • Hazardous Areas Training (desirable)
  • Plumbing Standards and Regulations 2000
  • Relevant experience in hydrogen gas production, mining or related heavy industry
  • Experience with operations / maintenance of high-pressure gas plants within hazardous areas
  • Knowledge of applicable legislations, Australian Standards and International standards.
  • Experience on conducting repairs and maintenance on small reverse osmosis systems
