We are seeking a Principal Advisor, Business Analysis to actively contribute to value-creating opportunities for the Business & Technology Support Business Analysis team. You’ll provide high-quality financial support and strategic insight across various functions, including, Closure, Decarbonisation, Information Systems & Technology and Exploration.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a high-performing team, gain significant exposure to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and interact with diverse Business Units across a global business.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Business Analysis, you will engage with Senior Leaders to identify, advise, and evaluate capital and commercial proposals, ensuring maximized value for the organization. Your responsibilities will include generating, evaluating, and building business cases for new development opportunities and strategic initiatives. Additionally, you will prepare and review submissions to the Business and Technology Support Investment Committee, providing insights on commercial issues, risks, and opportunities.

Supporting planning and capital performance management processes, including capital prioritization, will also be key aspects of your role. You will provide trusted advisory support to the SLT, influencing and advising on relevant commercial matters. Pursuing innovative evaluation techniques and maintaining high integrity by applying commercial rigor and discipline to all business decisions and stakeholder relationships, will be crucial for success in this position.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor in Commerce, Engineering or Economics (or similar).
  • Significant experience, with a demonstrated ability to work in a global business across organisational and geographical interfaces.
  • Very strong analytical skills, including outstanding financial evaluation and modelling expertise.
  • Strong leadership, management and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, influence and deliver superior results.
  • Proactive insight generation with a willingness to challenge the status quo.
  • Excellent communication skills to present complex information and analysis to senior stakeholders.
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, influence, and deliver superior results.
