About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our team in Perth as part of our Iron Ore Marketing Strategy and Technical function.

Reporting to the Manager of Marketing Strategy and Technical (Projects), this role will play a pivotal role in managing the relationship between the Asset Planning and Marketing Strategy and Technical teams and will be accountable for Marketing inputs into Asset and Marketing studies and optimization projects across the mid- and longer-term time horizons.

This position will be based in our BHP Perth office.    

Key Accountabilities

  • Coordinates Marketing’s inputs into the CAP cycle (LOA, 5YP, 2YB) and works with Asset planning teams to ensure robust plans are developed, which support the broader Marketing strategy. 
  • Coordinates Marketing’s inputs into asset projects and studies (OA, IPS, SPS, DPS) 
  • Applies ViU and technical knowledge to support Asset and Marketing studies and optimization projects.
  • Collaborate with Maritime and Front Office teams in defining the long-term Marketing supply chain strategy (+12 months) that can adapt to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, strategic business objectives and changes in production.  
  • Participate in cross-functional projects, summarizing and effectively communicating information and insights into commercial opportunities to support mid to long-term assessments and productivity projects across the business.
  • Liaise with the broader Marketing function to support continuous improvement.

About You

  • You will hold a bachelor's degree and/ or at least an extensive years' experience in a technical role related to the iron ore mining industry. 
  • Solid team player equipped with independence of thought.
  • Excellent stakeholders’ management skills with senior leaders, cross-functional teams, and/or external agencies
  • Demonstrates good understanding of the iron ore market, commercial drivers and supply chain.
  • Strong long-term strategy and planning functional expertise.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Good proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.
