About the Role
As Principal Reward, Global Benefits, you will lead the strategy, governance and evolution of BHP's retirement, healthcare and insured benefit programs across multiple countries and regions. You will provide expert advice on benefits design, funding and risk management, while partnering with senior stakeholders and regional Reward teams to deliver sustainable and market-leading benefits for our workforce.
This role plays a critical part in shaping BHP's benefits strategy, ensuring programs remain financially sustainable, compliant and aligned to our reward philosophy. As a trusted adviser to senior leaders, you will influence benefits outcomes for a global workforce operating across diverse regulatory and business environments.
Key Accountabilities will include:
- Lead the development and execution of BHP's global retirement, healthcare and insured benefits strategy.
- Provide thought leadership and trusted advice to senior leaders on global benefits strategy, funding, governance and emerging risks.
- Oversee benefit plan design, funding, investment and risk management frameworks across multiple jurisdictions.
- Identify opportunities to improve benefit effectiveness, mitigate risk and optimise long-term cost outcomes.
- Provide expert advice on employee benefit implications associated with acquisitions, divestments and organisational change.
- Partner with regional Reward and HR teams to ensure effective implementation and governance of benefit programs globally.
- Monitor legislative, regulatory and market developments to identify emerging risks and opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with insurers, consultants, actuaries and other external partners.
- Support strategic Reward initiatives and contribute to the ongoing development of Reward capability across the organisation.
About You
- Significant experience leading or advising on pensions, retirement and employee benefits strategy within a large multinational organisation or consulting firm.
- Experience managing complex benefit programs across multiple countries and regulatory environments.
- Deep understanding of benefit strategy, governance, funding and risk management principles.
- Strong commercial and analytical capability, with the ability to translate complex data into clear business recommendations.
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders and managing relationships across global and culturally diverse environments.
- Demonstrated success leading strategic initiatives and delivering outcomes in complex organisations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
- Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions or major organisational change activities would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of Australian, UK and US pension and employee benefits environments would be beneficial.
