About the Role
We are looking for Process Technicians with current experience in a mineral or chemical processing plant. This role is offered on a sportsman roster 2D2N5X 2D3N4X 3D2N5X.
The main function of the Process Technician is to safely operate parts of the plant which affect control of the nickel refining process to enable the refinery to achieve business plan production targets.
Reporting to the Leach Production team, the role will include learning and operating process plants that produce a high quality nickel product. These utilities include; grinding circuit operation, hydrometallurgical processes, process gas and anhydrous ammonia control and recovery.
About You
- High level of safety focus – on keeping themselves safe and working safely in a team
- Currently working in, or familiar with mineral or chemical processing operations
- Process and/or Mechanical ability and strong problem solving skills
- Able to work unsupervised and handle a complexity of tasks in an effective manner
- Strong communication skills
- A positive attitude towards being a team player
- A passion to learn and improve themselves and improve the process plant

About Kwinana
Located 30 kilometres south of the Perth, the Nickel West Kwinana produces nickel briquettes and nickel powder. While many employees live in Perth, Fremantle and Mandurah, the Kwinana region is a thriving coastal township with three public beaches, excellent schools, modern shopping facilities and a wide variety of housing options. As part of our commitment to health and safety Nickel West Kwinana is a smoke free operation.
We are investing in a Nickel Sulphate plant to be built at our Kwinana refinery south of Perth. We believe there are significant competitive advantages for Nickel West to move downstream into the battery chemical business.
