We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Production Supervisor to join our team at Amrun (Southern Operations). This role presents a fantastic opportunity for an experienced leader looking to take the next step in their leadership career.
You’ll be part of a friendly team, supported by your leader to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the team. You’ll work on an 7 days on, 7 days off, 7 nights on, 7 days off roster which will give you more time to spend on the things that are important to you and the people in your life.
Reporting to the Production Superintendent you will:
- Be an inspiring role model and coach for positive behaviours, practices and processes, whilst providing leadership, development and support to your team.
- Implement production operation plan to maximise productivity while minimizing cost and environmental impact
- Work closely with Development, Mine Planning, Fixed Plant and HEQ teams to ensure mine plan is met, and balancing the competing priorities to ensure the site achieves targets
- Complete daily inspections of the pit and drive a positive safety culture with your team.
- Build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders to align on operational plans and strategies.
- Responsible for work unit training, safety compliance and departmental scheduling and productivity
- Undertake planning including execute and deliver on the day-to-day and fortnightly plan, organise and allocate resources according to work requirements

Where you’ll be working
Our Weipa Operations includes three bauxite mines, processing facilities, ship loaders, an export wharf, two ports, power stations, a rail network and ferry terminals. Located on the Western Cape York Peninsula in Far North Queensland, each year the operation produces more than 35 million tons of bauxite.
Our operations are supported by a 1,900-strong workforce—including 26 per cent who are women and 25 per cent Indigenous employees. Activities include mine operations, maintenance, asset management, ports, cultural heritage management, and processing facility management.
The development of our new mine, Amrun, which was completed in 2018, will extend the life of our Weipa bauxite operations by decades to come and significantly build on our 55-year history on the Western Cape.
