About the role:
We are seeking and experienced Project Manager which will see you step into a well-established Narrabri operation, managing two active contracts covering Cut & Flit and Gateroad Development.
With a strong existing structure in place, including an experienced Project Management team of eleven (11) and a site workforce of 110+ personnel, you will focus on leading performance, strengthening culture, and optimising delivery across both contracts.
Working closely with the Regional GM – NSW North & West, you will be accountable for achieving contractual KPIs while continuing to embed a culture that prioritises safety, accountability, and operational excellence. This role calls for a hands-on, influential leader who can build on an already solid foundation and drive consistent results across a large, high-performing team.
Minimum skills and expectations for the Project Manager:
- Previous place change minging and/or Development mining experience essential;
- Demonstrated success in similar underground coal project management roles;
- Statutory qualification (highly desirable);
- Experience in implementing safety management system initiatives;
- Outstanding leadership and people management skills;
- Developed planning, budgeting and reporting skills;
- Proven ability to form strong working relationships with key clients, suppliers and other industry contacts;
- The ability to utilise investigative and audit tools and processes;
- An in-depth understanding of Coal legislation and standards;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Tertiary qualifications in management, mining or similar (desirable);
- Full Australian working rights required.
