Project Quality Manager
Work location: Brisbane
Roster: Monday to Friday
FFI has identified the opportunity to develop a green ammonia facility at Gibson Island, Brisbane, through construction of a hydrogen production facility and refurbishment of an existing gas-based ammonia production facility, owned and operated by others.
Reporting to the Project Director the Project Quality Manager is responsible for the implementation of the Gibson Island Hydrogen and Ammonia project quality program to provide risk based assurance that the project achieves its performance objectives and meets stakeholder and regulatory obligations. With a budget in excess of $1Billion and fast paced schedule this project is expected to be one of the world’s first to produce industrial scale Green Hydrogen and Green ammonia for domestic and export markets.

Key responsibilities:
- Providing quality management leadership to facilitate the achievement of project objectives and obligations.
- Development, implementation and validation of the project quality program in accordance with the Quality Policy, Project Execution Plan and Project Quality Strategy
- Manage project quality team resources including, definition of resource requirements and competencies, recruitment and onboarding, task allocation and performance management
- Facilitate the implementation of project management processes and controls as required by the Project Director
- Facilitate project risk assessments and the implementation of risk mitigation and control measures
- Support project functions in the development and implementation of risk based quality verification plans which ensure the conformance of their respective scopes with requirements and obligations
- Ensuring that key functional project delivery processes are in place, effective and delivering results
- Implementing quality requirements for multiple complex outsourced scopes of supply encompassing, owners engineer key equipment suppliers and construction and installation contractors and to assure the conformance of their respective scopes with contractual and technical requirements and regulator obligations.
- Manage the progressive compilation review and acceptance of project verification, inspection and test records including records required to meet regulatory obligations
- Manage quality performance measurement, evaluation, and audit to verify that quality management controls are suitable, understood and effectively implemented
- Oversight of internal and supplier responsiveness to correct nonconformance and to implement actions to improve the effectiveness of the project development processes
- Ensure all FFI Infrastructure adheres to all Government regulations and procedures relating to maintaining our business licenses.
- Conduct monthly reviews to ensure accountability of all project quality activities as well as the accurate and timely reporting of verification and validation deliverables and obligations.
- Facilitate the assessment and implementation of lessons and innovative ideas throughout the project lifecycle, across all disciplines to improve project conformance, schedule and budget performance.
- Support all aspects of HSSE for the project. This includes supporting the implementation, monitoring and adherence to Fortescue safety systems and procedures for the design, construction and commissioning of the project for handover to operations.
Qualifications and skills required:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited university
- Significant experience in senor quality management roles for highly complex, industrial projects in in design, procurement, manufacturing and construction of utility, energy, chemical or gas industries.
- Experience working as Company Quality Representative / comfortable operating within an Owners team organisation.
- Demonstrated diplomatic, management, and communication skills to liaise and advocate with governments and other key stakeholders.
- Proven ability to write technical reports and project documents and deliver presentations.
