About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated team member to join the Integrated Operations team in the role of Supervisor Rail Control Production.
As the single point of accountability for zero – 48-hour execution of the WAIO railing schedule - you will leverage your outstanding leadership, communication, risk management and problem-solving skills to optimise the daily running of one of the world’s leading heavy haul railways.
Reporting to the Superintendent Rail Control Production, this role is based at our Integrated Remote Operations Centre in Perth (City Square) and works on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Support and guide team of Network Coordinators, and working closely with planning, scheduling and execution teams across Rail and Integrated Operations to optimise network running in the zero-to-48hr time horizon
- Understand network state and priorities. Setting daily strategic direction for execution teams across the rail network, advising on optimum resource allocation and tactical focuses to maximise network productivity
- Respond to major unplanned events that interrupt railway operation. Coordinate incident response and facilitate safe and efficient recovery
- Review daily and weekly schedules. Identify opportunities to maximise production while managing risk and providing subject-matter expertise to supply chain planning and scheduling teams to optimise the plan
- Review past performance to identify learnings – and championing a continuous improvement mindset with regard to our systems, processes and culture
About You
- You will have demonstrated experience in leadership roles managing complex supply chains in the rail, energy or resources sector.
- You will thrive in a fast-paced, high-visibility role that requires you to collaborate with and influence a broad range of stakeholders. You will demonstrate strong analytical skills, excellent judgement and the ability to make decisions confidently. You will have an overriding commitment to safety and be adept at identifying & managing risk in an operational setting.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to build trust with stakeholders across levels of a large organisation are essential.
- Experience in guiding and developing high-performance teams comprised people from diverse backgrounds is highly desirable.
- A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or other quantitative field will be highly regarded.
8/6 Dayshift Roster:
This position will work on a continuous 8 days on – 6 days off roster, working dayshift only. You will benefit from a shift allowance as part of your remuneration package, and an additional week of annual leave per year.
