About the role
Join our inclusive Mine Planning & Engineering team as a Scheduler Shutdown – Fixed Plant where you will have the opportunity to be part of a high performing, collaborative team.
In this role, your overall focus will be to develop an executable schedule for large-scale shutdowns based on maintenance and life of asset strategy. Apply Lean Principles to ensure the shutdown schedule is optimised from a Safety, Cost and Quality perspective.
Reporting to the Planning and Scheduling Superintendent, your duties will include:
Developing shutdown schedules over an 18-week period following a disciplined shutdown process
Development of efficient critical paths for process plant shutdowns which meet the mines requirements
Identifying any task interactions that could impact safety and work with maintenance teams to eliminate
Development of shutdown schedules that are in line with cost targets/budgets
Confirming all resources including parts, labour and tolling are available for shutdown
Use and understanding of key KPI’s to measure shutdown schedule efficiency
Developing sound relationships with stakeholders to achieve optimum results
Facilitation of key shutdown preparation and execution meetings
Facilitation of post shutdown improvement meetings and applying lessons learnt to future shutdowns
What you’ll bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
An ability to build strong relationships and uplift teams
Respect for others and advocates for an all-inclusive mindset
An understanding of what a safe working environment looks like and acts when something is not right
A background in processing plant operations or maintenance
Previous experience in maintenance scheduling for large scale machinery/processing plants
Previous exposure to SAP, MS Project, MS Excel and Prometheus
Current ‘C’ Class Driver's License (Manual)

Located 234km north-west of Newman, Gudai Darri is the newest Rio Tinto mine in the Pilbara. It offers a range of fly in fly out rosters. As one of Australia's largest-producing iron ore mines; operating a fleet of autonomous trucks and drills, it generates more than 50 million tonnes of iron ore each year.
