Based on site at Moolarben Coal Operations and reporting to the Environment and Community Superintendent, you will be a part of a dynamic and motivated team. This diverse position will support current and future expansion projects, focusing on Water and Compliance Management.
The role will require you to:
- Support the development, implementation, and administration of Water Management Plans, including Site Water Balance, Operational Trigger Action Response Plan (TARP), and Life of Mine (LOM) Water Balance planning.
- Ensure compliance with Water Licensing requirements and regulatory obligations.
- Oversee groundwater and surface water management, including data collection, analysis, and regular monitoring.
- Coordinate the installation, maintenance, and decommissioning of groundwater and surface water monitoring networks.
- Assist in maintaining and updating the groundwater model to support site water management strategies.
- Review and contribute to monthly water and environmental reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Administer the site’s monitoring database, ensuring precise data entry, record-keeping, and reporting.
- Mentor and support members of the E&C team.
- Partner with internal & external operational stakeholders to provide accurate environmental advice.
- Manage contractors and consultants from scope preparation to project completion.
- Prepare and review technical environmental reports.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and attributes:
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Engineering or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills to work within a team environment.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders.
- Relevant experience in a similar role within the mining industry is desirable.
