About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Specialist Data Governance (Tech) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering and embedding the technology solutions that enable our enterprise data governance capability.

​This includes leading the implementation of tools such as an enterprise data catalogue, metadata and lineage systems, and data quality frameworks, ensuring they are effectively integrated into our data ecosystem. ​ 

This is a unique opportunity to shape how governance is operationalised through technology across a global mining and resources business, working at the intersection of data, technology, and governance.​

Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage enterprise governance tools (catalogue, metadata, lineage, data quality).​

  • Partner with governance, architecture, and IS&T teams to embed governance standards into technology.​

  • Integrate governance tools with SAP and non-SAP platforms to ensure a seamless data experience.​

  • Drive adoption of governance solutions across business domains by enabling data stewards and owners.​

  • Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on effective use of governance technologies.​

  • Monitor and evaluate emerging technologies to advance automation and self-service governance.​

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, privacy, and security requirements.​

About you

  • Extensive experience in data governance, with a strong focus on the technology enablement of governance capabilities.​

  • Hands-on expertise with enterprise data catalogues, metadata management, reporting & analytical environments as well as data quality platforms.​

  • Solid understanding of cloud and hybrid data ecosystems (Azure, SAP, Databricks).​

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.​

  • Ability to lead governance technology rollouts and drive adoption across global teams.7+ years’ experience in data governance, architecture, or management.​
