We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Specialist to join the Utilities and Asset Management Business Partner team within Procurement. This is an exciting opportunity for an excellent communicator who excels across both category management and business partnering to join a culture-focused team.
You will be a key leader within the team, responsible for managing a complex category and a variety of strategic stakeholders for the Utilities and Asset Management portfolio. In this role you will demonstrate your strategic commercial approach across the end-to-end procurement process, driving local procurement and sustainability opportunities.
Reporting to the BP – Utilities and Asset Management you will:
Develop category and sourcing strategies and opportunities in collaboration with key stakeholders
Work across the full procurement lifecycle, driving local procurement outcomes and sourcing for operations projects
Gather market intelligence and undertake data analysis to help inform sourcing and category strategies
Develop and implement strategic sourcing and category strategies to help achieve business objectives
Contribute to category value creation initiatives, bringing innovative ideas and energy
Developing and maintaining relationships with key external and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities and initiatives to enhance value and performance across the supply chain
What you’ll bring
To be successful in this role you will ideally have:
A positive approach towards your work, with a focus on team culture and a willingness to support our cultural journey
A minimum of 4 years’ direct Procurement experience, including supply chain and commercial analysis, strategy development, negotiation, stakeholder management and contract execution/review
Strong negotiation skills to develop agreements, with commercial terms that maximise value and minimise risk exposure for Rio Tinto
Proficient and skilled in framing opportunities and analysis to refine presentations and projects for development and execution
Strong presentation skills with the ability to summarise key information to deliver clear key messages to diverse audiences
Ability to partner with key external suppliers and stakeholders to co-develop projects and identify opportunities centred on achieving Rio Tinto’s strategic objectives
Tertiary Degree or equivalent qualification in a related discipline including business, commerce or law
