About the role
We are seeking an experienced & motivated Advisor Signals to join our team and play a key role in the safe & efficient operation of our rail network. In this position, you will provide expert guidance on signalling systems, ensure compliance with safety and operational standards, and support the planning, design, and maintenance of signalling infrastructure.This role plays a key part in ensuring that safety, maintenance, and operational targets are achieved in line with RTIO policy, asset management processes as well as relevant legislation and regulations.
Key Accountabilities
This role is a great opportunity for a driven individual with proven signalling, work management experience and strong stakeholder management skills to engage with and drive your team to success.Working on a 5 days on / 2 days off / 4 days on / 3 days off roster and reporting to the Superintendent Signals, you will:
Provide technical advice and expertise on signal faults reviewing playbacks & logs to communicate to technicians on the ground
Support incident investigations and provide root cause analysis related to signal failures
Ensure signalling maintenance comply with relevant safety, operational, and regulatory requirement
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of work management processes, including planning, scheduling, execution, and close-out
Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to ensure maintenance work is effectively prioritised and resourced
Scope maintenance & support works, assessing job requirements, resources and timelines
Analyse work management data to identify performance trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
Provide training and coaching to frontline staff on best practices in work management systems and tools
Assist in developing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance performance and asset health
Review and assess signalling design documentation for new and existing projects
Ensure correct tools, equipment & materials are identified and available for each job
What you’ll bring
Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience
WA A grade electrical licence or equivalent
Cert IV in Rail Signalling
Strong background in heavy haul rail
Proficient in SAP and workflow management processes
Proven efficiency in fostering a customer centric approach to day-to-day tasks
