About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Scheduling Engineer working on site at our Blackwater Mine in the Bowen Basin. Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Scheduling, you will use your strong technical skills and experience to work with a team of engineers to produce optimised schedules that will enable operations to deliver superior performance. You will develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders and customers to discuss and develop mine plan inputs, review mining sequences, support the management of equipment interaction and produce a set of plan outputs that enable the operations team to understand and value the mine plan. This role is based at Blackwater Mine on 8/6 roster, offering flexible travel arrangements. In this role you will:
- Participate in site safety routines and demonstrate a proactive safety culture;
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with operational and functional teams;
- Deliver a weekly mine schedule to maximise value and meet business objectives;
- Communicate equipment interactions and enabling activities in the mine schedule;
- Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to work through opportunities and risks to the mine plan;
- Deliver a weekly haulage plan to the operations team;
- Monitor monthly compliance to plan and design compliance;
- Integrate the weekly mine schedule into a rolling 18 month mine plan;
- Use your experience and knowledge to mentor graduates, interns and new starters.
About You
As the successful candidate, you will have a tertiary education in mining engineering or equivalent. You will have a minimum of 3 years working as a mining engineer and demonstrate a high-level safety culture. A strong working knowledge of the following software packages is preferred but not essential:
- Spry
- Deswik
- 3D Dig
- Microsoft Office Suite
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must; this will allow you to build relationships across departments and to communicate with all levels of the business.
