About the role

We are seeking an engaging, safety and productivity focused Superintendent Projects to lead our onsite project delivery team based at Brockman 4 for the Greater Brockman region. Reporting to the Manager Operational Readiness and Project Delivery, this role has strong business exposure. This is a great opportunity to showcase your influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.

You will be responsible for executing divisional capital projects mostly <$2m to enhance productivity, safety, asset reliability and meet anticipated project demand in alignment with Rio Tinto standards, while maintaining compliance with relevant legislative and statutory requirements.

This role presents a fantastic opportunity to draw on your people leadership skills, project management and commercial acumen, coupled with your technical knowledge to manage the portfolio of strategic turnkey solutions for Brockman. This role will suit a proficient leader, who has experience working in project leadership roles, with the ability to effectively lead, mentor and coach team members, business partners, contract partners and senior leaders.

What you will bring

  • Bring a commitment to the safety of yourself and your team as the number one priority
  • Possess tertiary level qualifications in Project Management, Engineering or similar
  • Have solid multi discipline portfolio management experience, with the ability to define and implement project improvement initiatives to maximise capital efficiency
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, contractor management, project execution and project controls
  • Capable to manage a team delivering projects from early phases to close-out
  • Ability to work with diverse teams and manage multiple programs of change / continuous improvement activities
  • Experience with evaluation studies for potential and identified projects including leading of scoping, feasibility and engineering studies that assists the company to achieve production targets
  • Previous exposure with project management of approved site capital projects utilising a formal project management framework

Where you’ll be working

Located 60km north-west of Tom Price, Brockman is wholly owned and operated by Rio Tinto. Opened in 2010, this open pit operation offers a family friendly fly in fly out roster with state-of-the-art camp facilities.

The Greater Brockman Operations consist of Brockman 2, Brockman 4, Nammuldi and Silvergrass. Driving the latest technological advancements, the open-pit mines offer an avenue for opportunity and career progression.
