About the Role
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, your key accountabilities will include:
- Leading a team of Surveyors
- Primarily underground work including shaft operation, block cave, surface projects and future open pit opportunities.
- Maintaining accurate survey records, databases and control network
- Directional control of horizontal and vertical development
- Setout for diamond drilling and raise bores
- QAQC of mining development and ground support
- EOM surveys and calculations
- Maintain mine plans to meet Mines Department requirement
- Regular maintenance and calibration of Surveying Equipment
- Surface projects as required including exploration and subsidence monitoring
About You
The successful candidate will ideally possess the following:
- Previous underground mine surveying experience
- Tertiary Qualification – Degree / Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Surveying.
- Hold an authorised mine surveyor’s certificate (grade 1) preferred.
- Current and Valid Australian (manual) Drivers Licence
- Experience using modern survey equipment such as Leica TS16 / MS60, Scanners, UAV’s, CMS, CAL-S, Trimble RTK GPS
- Experience using Deswik or other Mine Surveying Software
Location
Nickel West Leinster is located 375 kilometers north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. The operation sources nickel ore from the Perseverance Underground Mine and Cliffs Underground Mine before crushing and processing to produce a concentrate. The Leinster Village and Township offer a unique lifestyle with all the modern conveniences – an Olympic size swimming pool, health and fitness centre, race-course and even an 18 hole golf course.
