About the Role

Provide leadership and coaching to teams to deliver high performance, focused on the inbound movement of products and goods received into our CuSA Warehouses. The role will manage performance improvements across the mandate while having a specific focus on material preservation standards and execution of preservation works across CuSA ensuring a high level of service to our Asset operations teams. The role also owns the overall capability program, processes and systems for our CuSA specific regional Warehousing activities and ensures the regional Warehouse team integrates smoothly with key stakeholders across BHP Functional, Projects & Ops Readiness, and Asset teams where required.

  • An understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain to enhance efficiency, drive optimisation, and maximise value.
  • Safely executes the storage, handling, and preservation of goods in alignment with safety standards and Warehousing processes, including material preservation.  
  • Leads, coaches and mentors team members to ensure delivery against performance targets.
  • Monitors expectations, understanding and application of Supply Chain processes within the team to support compliance with local requirements and Our Requirements.
  • Lead and embed defect elimination rhythms and routines, ensuring triggered events are reviewed, investigated, actions implemented and monitored for effectiveness, with learnings shared with other sub-functions.
  • Builds cross-functional integration through collaboration with other Reliability Superintendents.
  • Leads the preparation of the area's Operations budget.
  • Leads the review of the results of execution from the current weekly work schedule to support and ensure compliance of preventive work.
  • Monitors statutory/legislative compliance of relevant processes to internal standards.
  • Manages the updating of work procedures/instructions, control systems and ensures critical controls exist and are effective for the operation/area of accountability.
  • Create, maintain, and improve locally governed preservation strategies, preventive maintenance & corrective Task Lists.
  • Makes evidence based and strategic decisions in alignment with longer term business objectives.  
  • Identifies and assesses risks, makes risk informed decisions, uses BHP's risk management framework, and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.  
  • Designs and implements governance/assurance practices and Management of Change procedures to control value outcomes across BHP.

About you

  • Deep understanding of warehouse processes and technology
  • Experience in developing capability frameworks
  • Experience in Supply Chain / Warehousing
  • Supply chain / Engineering / Tertiary qualification (Preferred)
  • Training and Capability Management experience
  • Advanced understanding of SAP MM / EWM Experience
  • Ability to work at a high level in Microsoft packages, particularly excel
  • High level of communication and negotiation skills
  • Stakeholder management skills
  • Proficient working with SAP, in developing and analysing report data
  • Risk management experience
