About the role

We are looking for a Supervisor Administration to join our newly established Shutdowns Division within Rio Tinto’s Pilbara Iron Ore operations.

This is an exciting opportunity to support a high-performing team responsible for delivering efficient and effective shutdowns across our mining operations.

This role is critical in the mentoring, coaching and development of the Administration team, including providing regular performance feedback. Provide leadership in safely executing administration activities at a site level ensuring team performance is in line with short-term objectives.

Reporting to the Manager Operational Excellence, you will:

  • Adhere to all Rio Tinto standards, policies and procedures ​
  • Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations ​
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating and implementing improvement opportunities utilising a range of Rio Tinto best practices ​
  • Collaborate closely with other functions and stakeholders in the performance of duties ​
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Administration personnel​
  • Organise and manage the execution of administration work performed​
  • Responsible for Administration training, safety compliance, scheduling and productivity​
  • Manage administration activities to maximise productivity while minimising cost and environmental impact​
  • Define staffing and development needs of the Administration team​
  • Ensure compliance to relative legislation, including statutory obligations for document control and DMIRS administrative requirements adhered to ​
  • Provide appropriate coaching, mentoring and technical support to the operations​
  • Support the site by acting as the key contact for flights and accommodation bookings​
  • Support site initiatives as required for events, such as VIP visits and family days​

Where you’ll be working    

This role is based in Perth, at our head office in Central Park, and working Monday to Friday.
