About the role

We are looking for Supervisor Asset Health to join and support our Mobile Equipment Maintenance team at Greater Tom Price. This role presents a fantastic opportunity for experienced personnel looking to take the next step in their leadership career.

You’ll be a part of a friendly team, supported by your Superintendent to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the team. You’ll work 8 days on, 6 days off roster which will give you more time to spend on the things that are important to you and the people in your life. 

Reporting to the Superintendent Mobile Equipment Maintenance, you will:

  • Adhere to all Rio Tinto standards, policies and procedures
  • Appointment as Statutory Supervisor under WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022 with the functions as per Schedule 26
  • Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating and implementing improvement opportunities utilising a range of Rio Tinto best practices
  • Collaborate closely with other functions and stakeholders in the performance of duties
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of MEM Asset Health personnel including Fleet Inspectors, NDT Technicians, Mining Systems Technicians and OEM Product Support Advisors
  • Organise and manage the execution of MEM Asset Health work performed
  • Drive Fleet uplift initiatives to increase reliability and performance of our MEM assets
  • Actively engage and support Defect Elimination practices
  • Responsible for MEM Asset Health training, safety compliance, scheduling and productivity
  • Manage MEM Asset Health activities to maximise productivity while minimising cost and environmental impact
  • Ensure compliance to relative legislation, including statutory obligations
  • Develop and roll out daily work plans that are consistent with work schedules and operational priorities
  • Support management of the maintenance team budget to achieve business outcomes
  • Create and plan work orders for current scheduling week
  • Manage key safety investigations, prepare reports and recommendations, and implement corrective and preventative actions
  • Check notifications daily to determine clarity and accuracy, and liaise closely with the Planner and Scheduler to review new notifications and assign accountability
  • Manage Asset Health watchlist, including escalation of any trends or equipment concerns  
  • Lead and embed SPS practices to strive towards Best Operator performance

What you’ll bring

  • Leadership experience and confidence in leading, developing and coaching team members
  • Knowledge of maintenance principles
  • Contractor management experience
  • Computer literacy, Outlook, Excel, Word and SAP maintenance system
  • An understanding of the work management process and principles
  • Experience working in fixed plant operations, maintenance or similar

  • A Current Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver's Licence (Manual)
  • Relevant trade qualification or Engineering degree (electrical/mechanical)
  • First Aid, Safe Working at Heights and Confined Space certificates
  • Statutory Position Legal Exam – Statutory Supervisor
  • Approved Risk Management Training BSBWHS411 RIIRIS402E or BSBWHS414

Tom Price is located in the central Pilbara, west of Karijini National Park and is our original Pilbara mine, currently employing residential and fly in fly out employees.
