About the role
We’re looking for a dynamic, people-centred Supervisor Contractor Management Services to join our team.
As the CMS Supervisor, you’ll be the on-the-ground coordinator responsible for managing contractor crews performing various projects in and around the Rail Yard and tracks.
You’ll work closely with operational leaders, frontline teams, and technical professionals to identify improvement projects, scope, plan and coordinate the execution utilising contractors —ensuring safety remains core to how we operate every day.
Reporting to the Superintendent Operations you will be responsible for:
Contractor Oversight & Field Supervision
Provide daily field-based supervision of contractors performing maintenance
Ensure execution aligns with scope, schedule, quality, and HSE requirements.
Be physically present during site work to confirm safe and compliant execution.
Contractor Mobilisation & Compliance
Oversee contractor onboarding and site integration according to CM procedures.
Ensure all inductions, qualifications, and risk controls are in place prior to execution.
Performance Management & Reporting
Maintain accurate exposure hours and performance logs.
Participate in performance reviews and support invoice validation and variation tracking.
Act as the first point of contact for contractor-related escalations or resource issues.
Safety & Technical Leadership
Ensure compliance with HSE, CRM, and cost management processes
Actively promote a positive safety culture, fostering safety awareness and compliance across the team
What you’ll bring
Show genuine care to every team member by holding them to account, appropriately escalating, and not walking past or accepting unsafe acts or conditions.
Display appropriate behaviours, respect for others and an all-inclusive mindset, displaying genuine care.
Experience in all aspects of Contractor Management, with in field supervision of contractors in a mining, rail, or industrial environment.
Exceptional stakeholder management, communication & collaboration skills.
Able to be proactive, flexible, and work independently.
Highly organised individual with great record keeping.
Current Australian C Class Driver’s License.
Strong understanding of mechanical/electrical maintenance practices and compliance requirements.
An understanding of the railway asset protection systems & principles of operation as well as the associated railway safe working procedures
