About the Role
The Geoscience Operations (Iron Ore) team are seeking Supervisor Operations (multiple roles) to join a safety focused, results-driven team, working in a positive and inclusive environment on 8/6, 7/7 roster. Some of these roles may be required to be on 8/6 day shift roster based on the work stream they are allocated.
With an increased business focus in rehabilitation heading into FY25, recruitment will be for a combination of Supervisor Operation roles, including current scope and additional scope roles that will focus on delivering safe execution of rehabilitation.
These roles in partnership with our contract vendors will oversee the execution and delivery of all Geoscience Operations activities, ensuring safe execution of work.
Reporting to the Superintendent Geoscience Operations your key accountabilities will include:
- Company: Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP “Our Requirements”, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
- Safety: Demonstrate strong leadership and commitment to Health Safety & Environment and embedding safe systems of work in every aspect of our portfolio.
- Operational: Meet the Supervisor level requirements of the Operating Discipline Standard.
- BOS: Embed BOS as a way of working and apply innovative thinking across the operation to continuously improve the way we work.
- Contractor Management: Develop strong partnerships with our contractor workforce who play a key part in the delivery of the Geoscience Operations portfolio.
About You
The successful candidate, will ideally possess the following:
- Previous experience in a similar role highly regarded – geoscience, drilling operations, contractor management or rehabilitation
- Proficiency in Geoscience software programs preferred (ArcGIS, Data management portal, DDMS)
- Have a deep understanding of relevant Geoscience contracts and apply these daily when approving plods
- Demonstrated commitment to Health, Safety and Environment
- Ability to lead, collaborate and influence a wide range of stakeholders (internal and external) to deliver a plan safely and foster positive working relationships
- Proven ability to plan, organise and coordinate a variety of tasks within a dynamic environment
- Focus on executing planned work and ability to analyse deviation for prompt rectification
- Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor appointment preferred
- Continuous improvement mindset and ability to challenge the status quo to drive operational excellence
