About the Role
We are currently seeking expressions of interest for a Vent Supervisor to join the Mine Scheduling Ventilation team supporting Olympic Dam Mine.
Reporting to the Ventilation Superintendent this position is a 7/7 Days/Nights Roster Tuesday – Monday.
In this role you will:
- Demonstrate visible safety leadership and ensure all Ventilation Officers and Ventilation Technicians consistently comply with standards, procedures, and statutory requirements to enable safe and effective work every day.
- Manage the preparation, review, and issue of electronic ventilation plans, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely communication to stakeholders.
- Coordinate and provide technical oversight of ventilation monitoring activities, including airflow surveys of Raises and Declines, ensuring work is completed to schedule and required standards.
- Review daily schedules and planned activities to identify ventilation-related risks, resource conflicts, and operational impacts, implementing controls and facilitating effective resolution with stakeholders.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to Ventilation Officers and Ventilation Technicians to support capability development and high performance.
- Collaborate with operational, technical, and contractor groups to ensure ventilation risks are effectively managed and ventilation controls remain fit for purpose.
- Monitor team performance, work quality, and compliance outcomes, driving continuous improvement opportunities across ventilation systems and processes.
About You
You are an engaging leader who can build strong working relationships, develop people, and influence positive outcomes across multiple disciplines. You will also have the following skills and experience:
- Relevant qualifications and/or significant experience in underground mine ventilation systems and networks.
- Demonstrated leadership experience supervising teams within a mining or operational environment.
- Strong ability to prioritise work, allocate resources, and manage competing operational demands.
- Ability to make sound risk-based decisions and proactively resolve issues in a dynamic operating environment.
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the business.
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear direction, technical guidance, and constructive feedback.
- Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
- Exposure to VentSim and Deswik Ops highly regarded.
