About the role

If you enjoy getting under the hood of payroll systems, solving complex problems and finding smarter ways of working, this could be the opportunity you have been looking for.

As our Payroll Integration Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring our payroll systems, integrations and governance frameworks support the accurate and compliant delivery of payroll across Australia. While you will have a strong understanding of end-to-end payroll and provide support to the payroll team when required, this is not a traditional payroll processing role.

Instead, you will become the go to expert for payroll systems, working across SAP, SuccessFactors and UKG to investigate issues, improve processes, strengthen governance controls and ensure data flows seamlessly across our payroll environment.

Working closely with Payroll, HR and IT teams, you will help drive continuous improvement initiatives, support system changes and integrations, and provide practical solutions to complex payroll challenges. It is a role for someone who enjoys connecting the dots, asking questions, and implementing long-term improvements across the entire payroll process..

Key responsibilities:

  • Act as a subject matter expert for payroll systems, configuration and integrations.
  • Investigate and resolve complex payroll, system and data-related issues.
  • Support payroll governance, controls and compliance across systems and processes.
  • Partner with Payroll, HR and IT teams to maintain accurate and reliable data across SAP, SuccessFactors and UKG.
  • Support payroll system enhancements, upgrades, testing and change initiatives.
  • Assist with end-to-end payroll activities and provide operational support during periods of leave or peak demand.
  • Monitor payroll obligations and ensure system configurations accurately reflect legislative, policy and enterprise agreement requirements.
  • Conduct data audits, identify discrepancies and work with stakeholders to drive timely resolution.
  • Develop reporting, analytics and insights to support operational and business decision-making.
  • Maintain system documentation, process maps and governance materials.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, risk reduction and service excellence.

The lifestyle:

This position is offered on a Monday to Friday basis, working from our Fortitude Valley office with working from home options. Peabody offers flexible start / finish times and a ‘redistributed working week’ giving employees flexibility to finish at noon on Fridays.

About You:

You are an experienced payroll professional who understands the importance of payroll accuracy and compliance, but your real passion lies in the systems, data and problem solving that sit behind it.

You enjoy investigating complex issues, digging into the detail and finding practical solutions that improve outcomes for both the business and employees. You are naturally curious, technically minded and willing to challenge conventional thinking when a better solution exists.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience working across end-to-end payroll environments, (Australian and US experience is critical) .
  • Strong experience with payroll-related configuration and use of SAP, as well as SuccessFactors (essential).
  • Experience with rostering configuration, handling time and attendance data, ideally using the Kronos/UKG platform.
  • Experience supporting payroll system changes, integrations, testing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proven capability investigating and resolving complex payroll or system-related issues.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends, risks and opportunities.

  • The confidence to work collaboratively across Payroll, HR and IT teams.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach with a willingness to think outside the box.
  • A team-first mindset coupled with a high level of accountability and attention to detail.
