About the role
Applications are now open for a range of roles for professional trainers and assessors with the right mindsets, values, and behaviours to build the capability of our people. These roles are a great opportunity for people who are passionate about unlocking human capability, building a diverse culture, and supporting safe productivity.
Working an 8 days on, and 6 days off and reporting to the Capability Development (CD) Training Supervisor. You will also be instrumental in supporting our teams.
You’ll bring strong communication skills with the ability to work as a collaborative team member within Capability Development, as well as with our stakeholders and step up to support the People Experience function when required.
Key accountabilities will include:
Train and assess frontline workers through one-on-one, infield, classroom, or group delivery in accordance with the training schedule agreed by the operational and CD training supervisor
Utilise and record attendance through CD systems and associated processes as well as perform basic administration as required
Complete and submit required training material and currency to ensure high quality CD training is delivered
Attend Prestart meetings with operational teams. Ensure travel is done in accordance with operational requirements, training assessors will travel to and from village to site as required via onsite busses with the operational teams relevant to the stream they are supporting
Participating and working on creating a positive and engaging experience for those undertaking multiskilling within the operation
Support leaders with the required training to enable personnel to be multiskilled prior to entering their work environment
Train frontline workforce through one on one, infield, classroom or group delivery
Role modelling safety leadership by striving for zero harm, demonstrating the Rio Tinto values and safety culture, especially through improved safety.
Support frontline leaders in supporting multiskilled training team members
About you
Excellent communication skills to influence, engage and build strong rapport with key stakeholders
A passion and curiosity to build knowledge of your stakeholders and the work they do
Effective time management skills, the ability to balance multiple and competing priorities and demonstrated ability to support diverse groups to achieve desired outcomes
Technical skill of work stream processes
On Job Trainer qualification
Certificate IV Training and Assessment (seen as advantageous but not essential)
