About the Role

The Transport Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the safe, compliant, and efficient movement of materials across the logistics network. This role manages transport operations to ensure service delivery, regulatory compliance, optimal resource utilisation, and alignment with business objectives. The Transport Supervisor actively drives continuous improvement in transport safety, contract performance, operational efficiency, and customer service outcomes.

Please note – There is no residential housing available for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion safe and compliant transport operations by overseeing contractor performance, regulatory compliance, and the safe handling of goods, including Dangerous Goods and HAZMAT.
  • Coordinate daily transport activities to ensure efficient, reliable, and cost-effective delivery of logistics services.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver effective transport solutions and exceptional customer outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, operational performance, compliance, and logistics network efficiency.
  • Monitor transport and contractor performance, using data and insights to optimise service delivery and support informed decision-making.
  • Support transport contract governance and supplier performance management to maximise value and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • S26 Statutory Supervisor qualification
  • HR Drivers Licence
  • Experience in transport, logistics, supply chain, or operational supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of transport legislation, freight operations, and Dangerous Goods requirements.
  • Experience managing contractors and third-party logistics providers.
  • A proven ability to drive safety performance and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Strong planning, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Experience in contract management and performance monitoring frameworks (desirable).
  • Lead by example in safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
  • Foster collaboration, accountability, and strong working relationships across teams and contractors.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation to enhance operational performance.
  • Build positive stakeholder partnerships that support business outcomes and customer satisfaction.
