About the role

Are you ready for a new challenge and a chance to grow your career in the resources industry? Through our Yarwun Women in Aluminium program, we are offering two dedicated opportunities to kick-start or advance your career as a Part-Time Warehouse Officer at our Yarwun Refinery in Gladstone.

These roles are supported by structured development and training, tailored support and the chance to gain valuable experience in warehousing.

As a Warehouse Officer, you’ll be part of a collaborative team responsible for efficient and safe warehouse operations. You’ll be:

  • Operating a forklift unloading and loading delivery trucks and vessels
  • Accurately receipting, sorting, stacking, picking, and packing inventory
  • Conducting stock takes and investigating discrepancies
  • Maintaining warehouse procedures and standards
  • Identifying and eliminating waste in operations

What you’ll bring:

  • A Commitment the safety of yourself and your team
  • Communicate clearly and build strong relationships
  • Are confident using computers and learning new systems (SAP knowledge is a plus)
  • Have a current driver’s licence
  • Are open to learning—we’ll teach you everything you need to know
  • Can work in hot weather environments and manage time effectively
  • You’ll need to be a local resident to the Gladstone region.

Where you’ll be working

Located in Central Queensland, approximately 10km north-west of Gladstone, Yarwun alumina refinery commenced operations in 2004.  Processing bauxite from our mines in Weipa and Gove, Yarwun produces more than three million tonnes of smelter grade alumina annually.

As one of the largest industries in the Gladstone region, Yarwun employs over 700 people and has a large contractor workforce.

With a focus on safely improving our process every day, the team at Yarwun challenge themselves to use existing and emerging technology to support our 24 hour operation.
